Pillowcase Project, Our Next Meeting and Our Christmas Party
Teri reports that we have 49 mini pillowcases for the kids in Mexico completed! Thanks to all who came to the September meeting and worked on them. Thanks to Donna for making kits and thanks to those who took some home to work on. Teri has 13 more to serge. (That’s 62 pillowcases that are done or almost done.) Teri has 15 more kits ready to sew. There will be a…
Pillowcase Work Day at Teri’s House on Thursday, November 1 from 10am to 2pm. RSVP to Teri at 300-0115 and she’ll make you lunch! Call her for directions and a gate pass.
Teri has received 4 pajama donations to go with the pillowcases. Remember to pick up a pair of jammies for the kids in Mexico while you’re out shopping for the holiday season. Please bring the jammies to the November 15 Loose Threads meeting. Teri and her husband, Don, need to deliver the pillows, pillowcases, and jammies the first week of December.
Our Christmas Party will be at Diane Cole’s house this year on the second Thursday, December 13 at 5pm. At the October meeting we talked about what we wanted to do for the party. As always, bring a dish to share: an appetizer or finger food. Bring your Dots and Stripes challenge from last Christmas to share. If you want to participate in the new 2013 Challenge, please bring a gift bag with four quilting-quality batik fat quarters in it for an exchange. The challenge will be to make a quilt incorporating the 4 batiks you will receive in the exchange. The Homemade Item Exchange is back. Last year we all brought a homemade item and had a gift-stealing exchange. It was a lot of fun. Diane would like to do it again this year so if you want to participate, please bring a homemade item wrapped. FYI – The item does not have to home-made by you!! Last year we had things like a quilt, an apron, a scarf, a travel pillow and pillowcase, etc. Our Christmas Party is always lots of fun so mark your calendar and don’t schedule anything else. We want you there!
