Loose Threads – February 2016

Loose Threads Mystery Quilt Night

Friday, February 5, 2016

Special meeting time FRIDAY from 4-10pm. Laura Newbry will be leading us in our Annual Mystery Quilt.  Click here to get prep instructions.

The Mystery Quilt this year is only two colors.  Please use HIGH CONTRAST fabrics.  Fabric 1 is 1 1/8 yard of background fabric. Fabric 2 is 1 yard of foreground fabric. It finishes 44×44 square.   Buy more of each fabric is you want to add borders (on your own).

You can still come and sew on your own projects if you don’t want to work on the Mystery Quilt.

We won’t be having Show and Tell or Draw for a UFO Gift Certificate Winner, so save your UFO’s for March:

  • What is this UFO Gift Certificate drawing? We collect dues, but then to encourage you to finish projects, we offer them back to you in the form of gift certificates to quilt shops. To participate, please pay your dues of $20 for 2016 in February. Each month you  finish a quilt and share it with us you can be in our monthly drawing to win a gift certificate to a quilt shop. (Winners in January 2016 were Debbie Schoolcraft and Angi Wiggins. We’ll draw for two more winners in March.)

Hostess (stays 4-10pm):  Laura Newbry
(many thanks to Robyn Thompson for hosting January’s meeting!)

Dinner: Everyone please bring potluck snacks and appetizers to fuel us for the Mystery Quilt
